Religious Education

The Mosque holds regular lectures and special events in which our community may expand their knowledge. Programs include Quran commentary and wisdom, details of sacred law, lessons from the life of the Prophet (PBUH), history of Muslim civilization, the proper performance of rites of worship (like prayer and Hajj), civic issues and duties, etc.

Question & Answer Session

Time: Monday & Tuesday, after Maghreb, all year round.

Location: Front Mosque

Suitability:Luganda class for all ages.

Lecturer: Sheikh Yusuf Kitenda

Prepare any burning issue in Islam and let the Sheikh give you an insight into it. Questions are not limited to any topic and you can ask questions that pertain to both genders.

Hadith Lecture

Time: Wednesday, after Maghreb Salah, all year round.

Location: Front Mosque

Suitability:Luganda class at all quran levels.

Lecturer: Sheikh Ali (Imaam Soya Mosque)

The term 'Hadith' can loosely be transleted to the collected reports of what the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said and did during his lifetime

Quran (Tajweed, Tilawah, Tafseer, Hifithu)

Time: Thursday, after Maghreb Salah, all year round.

Location: Front Mosque

Suitability: Luganda class at all quran levels.

Lecturer: Sheikh Huzaifa Lutaaya

Join us to recite the Holy Quran and learn the tafseer (interpretation of the meaning). The best way to end your day is with recitation of a few verses from the Holy Quran as well as the company of people who come together to remember Allah, gain divine guidance, and remind each other to be steadfast.

Time: Saturday, after Subuhi Salah, all year round.

Fiqh and Shariah

Time: Saturday, after Maghreb Salah, all year round.

The word "fiqh" is an Arabic term meaning "deep understanding" or "full comprehension". Technically it refers to the body of Islamic law extracted from detailed Islamic sources (which are studied in the principles of Islamic jurisprudence) and the process of gaining knowledge of Islam through jurisprudence. The term "Sharia" Islamic canonical law based on the teachings of the Koran and the traditions of the Prophet (Hadith and Sunna), prescribing both religious and secular duties and sometimes retributive penalties for lawbreaking.

Tawheed

Time: Sunday, after Subhi & Maghreb Salah, all year round.

Location: Front Mosque

Suitability:Luganda class at all quran levels.

Lecturer: Sheikh Yusuf Kitenda

Tawheed in Arabic means attributing Oneness to Allaah and describing Him as being One and Unique, with no partner or peer in His Essence and Attributes.

Islamic Studies for Children (Holiday Programme)

Time: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Location: Women's Hall

Suitability:English & Luganda speaking children aged 4 to 20 years.

Learn how to recite the Holy Qur'an and obtain a good grounding in Islam.
